Penny gave the Financial Report for the month of September — as of September 1st we had an opening balance of $11,223.18, as of September 30th we have a closing account balance of $11,368.18.  There were deposits totaling $145.00, which were monies for one new member and two 50/50’s.  There were no disbursements.

Other Business

We had two new members join us tonight.  One is Joe Kopidlowski, he and his wife Christina own a 2023 Arctic White Convertible and the second was Phil and Deb Nicodemo and they own as 1962 Red Convertible, they are friends of Steve and Joan.  We also had John Manning who owns a 2024 2LT and also Ken and his wife Anne who own a 2024 Seawolf Grey they are friends of John and Lynne..

Al spoke about the Corvette Black Book that is no longer in print.  While in Carlisle he found out that a couple of guys were willing to take it over and digitize it – he had a card with a QR code for Apple download and an Android version will be available at a later date.  He stated that Joe Uzzardi had a knee replacement and he’s on the mend.

Anthony spoke about the Nutley show and wanted to thank everyone who came out and supported the town – our club won four (4) trophies – Joe Gallo, Dave DeFeo, Mark Nahoun and Anthony.  They had 258 cars attend and had to turn cars away.

Kenny went over the past events – Sail House in Tarrytown and those that attended had a wonderful time and dinner, our annual club picnic this year which was held in the stone house due to construction on the shelter we usually have it at.  Everyone thought it was a great place, they have a kitchen so that if anyone needed to keep food warm there was an oven.  They set the room up for us with round tables plus long tables where we could put all of the food.  You could sit outside and eat and since it was a beautiful day, that’s where most of us ate.  We were able to control the amount of food that members brought so we did not have that much leftover.  We will need to discuss after the first of the year what it will cost us to have the picnic in the stone house, we got a deal due to the shelter not being available, we will look into it to find out what it will cost.  Once we find out the cost we will put it out to the membership to see if the club will pay for the entire event or possibly have people pay $5.00-$10.00 to off-set the cost.  We had our dinner at Spaziani’s which is always a great time, then we had a fun run to Marchioni’s (Andy’s brother’s restaurant), there were only 6 cars but the ride, weather and food were amazing.  Lunch at Tommy’s Tavern in Clifton was a success, quite a few members and the weather cooperated and everyone was able to eat outside.

Kenny spoke about the weekend at the Borgata, a separate email went out about this, if you need any information please get in touch with Charles.

Charles also set up a run to Brotherhood Winery for Sunday, November 2nd – again a separate email went out about this event to get in touch with Charles.

Another trip to Ocean City for the Corvette event Friday, November 7th thru Sunday, November 9th.  We will be staying at the Grand, which is right on the boardwalk.  Taking the ferry down and back.

Our elections are held at our November meeting and this year the only position up for election is President.  Jack recommended that if you are interested in being President to please take the time to read the By-Laws, which are on our website.

Our December meeting is our “White Elephant” meeting where each person brings a wrapped gift and there is a fun exchange.  Dinner is supplied by the club and it is a fun evening.  We will set the amount per gift at our November meeting.

Kenny brought up about our Holiday Party at the Brownstone and we have booked the music.  The date is Saturday, January 17th and the cost is $100.00 per person.

Paul and Valerie said that there didn’t seem to be any interest in the cruise in June to Bermuda, but she found out that they do a fall foliage cruise up through New England in October 3rd-10th,  Based on the dates, that is our Ocean City weekend, so it may be something that those who do not go to Ocean City would be interested in.

The 50/50 of $52.00 was won by Ken Caiafa.

Our next business meeting will be on Wednesday, November 12th at Franco’s Pizzeria on Bloomfield Avenue in West Caldwell (it’s in the Essex Mall directly across from Miller Chevrolet) at 7:00PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Linda Siegfried
